I was the biggest fan of Silverchair since frogstomp. Critic Reviews This album is a lot lighter and the songs sound a lot prettier than their previous albums. What's this? Then this came out, no more. Buy it!!! He is a terribly underrated singer. [Daniel] Johns' much-improved vocals and flair for the theatrical complement his new, more inventive guitar style. I can't imagine anyone, other than maybe Osama Bin Laden, not liking this CD. Diorama takes more than just a few styles of music and meshes it into Silverchair's own blend. Silverchair is truly a magnificent band. Daniel Johns wrote most of the songs on Diorama on the piano, instead of of guitar. The songs are so unique, there are no other bands that can pull this off. There are two extremely heavy songs on here (One Way Mule and The Lever), which actually go well with the other songs somehow. Album Rating: 4.0This album was way ahead of it's time. Silverchair can make a rock, grungey album perfect (like Frogstomp and Freak Show) and master a piece of work like Diorama also. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. Still waiting for Mr. Johns to produce more magic. Heavy orchestration, unpredictable melodic shifts and a whimsical pop sensibility give Diorama the sweeping feel of the work of Brian Wilson or Todd Rundgren. The lyrics leave so much room for imagination and thought. If so, you'll need to disable it when using this site, as it spams the websites you visit with fake requests. I appreciate this album so much more knowing that Silverchair doesn't make music to attract a certain fan base. Pos though. I promise you, you will not be disappointed with this album. This album makes me emotional; the depth of Johns' lyrics and the harmonies of the music are enough to leave you at a loss for words. Genres: Alternative Rock, Art Rock. Silverchair ROCK...they kick ass and Daniel i luv u soooo much and i think ur sooo brave!! The songs are so unique, there are no other bands that can pull this off. Hugely underrated Silverchair release. This album has a lot of positive lyrics about loving your life, whereas past albums talk about suicide and other depressing themes. With years of added wisdom and maturity, Silverchair has learned how to do much more.
